When does my Michigan real estate license expire?

  • Michigan Real Estate Licensees must accumulate at least 18 credit hours every 3 years to comply with renewal and continuing education requirements.
  • Each year, licensees must complete two hours of legal credit and one hour of fair housing within the 18-hour requirement.
  • The remaining 9 credits necessary to meet the 18-hour requirement for renewal can be of any type (legal or elective) and taken at any time within the three years.
  • Michigan real estate licensees now have individual expiration dates, based on the original issue date of the license.
  • Your license’s month and date of expiration serve as the annual deadline to complete the mandatory two hours of legal credit.

When do I have to renew my MN Real Estate License?

Minnesota Real Estate Agents are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education credits every 2 years to renew their real estate license. However, the 30 hours must be broken down into 15 hours each year. The deadline for completing these 15 hours this year is June 30, 2021. Real Estate agents can take all of their continuing education classes online. Training Cove offers two 15-hour packages that meet all Minnesota Department of Commerce requirements for each year. MN Salespeople are also required to take the 7/1/20-6/30/21 Salesperson and Broker Required Module for the 2020-2021 year. This class is also included in our packages.
